于是，我开始在上海和敦煌之间往返、寻找。很快我了解到，石窟中原有的许多敦煌音乐手稿散落在世界各地，其中大部分收藏在法国、英国和日本的图书馆、博物馆等地。由此，我又去了那些地方，追寻失散的敦煌古谱和古乐器，并开始琢磨如何让它们与今天的世界产生情感的连接。最终，我从众多壁画中选出了六个故事，创作成六幕交响乐《敦煌·慈悲颂》。这些都是我们熟悉的教诲如何做一个良善之人的故事。比如第一幕《菩提树》，小王子用自己的血肉身体去拯救死去的小鸟，领悟了众生平等的道理：“在这个世上，从细小的蚂蚁，到巨大的恐龙，生命都平等。”我把第二幕留给了美丽的九色鹿。传说有一天，九色鹿看到有人落水，明知自己一现身就可能被人类抓去杀了，她还是不顾自身安危地飞奔过去，救下了落水者。这个故事感动我的是九色鹿善良和舍己的大爱，因此我为合唱选用了一句诗：“恩人永远不能背叛，朋友永远不要放弃”。这是做人的主心骨，无论小孩还是大人，谁都不能把它忘记。
Another way to look at our threshold matrix is as a kind of probability matrix. Instead of offsetting the input pixel by the value given in the threshold matrix, we can instead use the value to sample from the cumulative probability of possible candidate colours, where each colour is assigned a probability or weight . Each colour’s weight represents it’s proportional contribution to the input colour. Colours with greater weight are then more likely to be picked for a given pixel and vice-versa, such that the local average for a given region should converge to that of the original input value.
